OTHER INFORMATION
The Country Club of Virginia is a private 54-hole facility established in 1908. This position is for the James River course which is ranked 8th in the state by Golf Digest. The James River course has hosted two US Amateurs and continues to host national and state golf tournaments. These events are an important part of the club's history and tradition. This Assistant position is a great opportunity to grow agronomic skills and develop professional management skills. Specific course information applies to the James River course at CCV and does not encompass all 54 holes. The Country Club of Virginia is a drug free workplace. REQUIREMENTS

 

GCSAA member: Member preferred

 

GCSAA certification: N/A

 

Eduation: Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in Turf Management or related field.

 

Experience: Two to three seasons experience and/or training.

 

Special Skills: Ability to obtain VA Pesticide Applicator's License. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.

Provide leadership for staff of 22 employees, provide clean and safe work environment, attend and assist with staff meetings and line-up, assist in completing daily project schedules for maint. staff, help determine immediate and future needs of the golf course, keep data and organization of test plots, communicate with Golf Professional Staff, inform staff of procedures and standards, display dedication and teamwork, assist with the agronomic planning and implement the plan, set up and utilize irrigation system, coach and counsel employees, evaluate employee performance, be able work long hours and fill in wherever needed.
